Landowner Leader Workshop: Caring for Carolinian Habitat on Your Farm
Quality Inn and Suites, Woodstock
Wednesday, March 27th, 2013
8:45 AM to 3:30 PM
FACT: Over 95% of land in southern Ontario is privately owned – and much of that is in agricultural production. But farmers also own woodlots, abandoned fields and other natural habitat. That means that folks like you are a key to ensuring the conservation and protection of wildlife, including species at risk, and their habitats on the landscape.
- Are you a farmer in southern Ontario?
- Do you have a woodlot, wetland or other natural habitat?
- Do you enjoy nature on your property?
- Have you ever wondered how to create a wetland for frogs and turtles? Or build a snake hibernaculum? Or make your woodlot or farm more inviting to forest-nesting birds?
If you answered yes to any or all of the above you may be interested in the Carolinian Canada Coalition’s Landowner Leaders Program, an initiative that proactively assists landowners in southern Ontario to create, protect and conserve habitat for the province’s Species at Risk.
